About The Event
This session is dedicated to the arrangement of international transfers of football players. You will learn the details concerning the negotiation of transfer contracts and employment agreements with the players as well as the peculiarities to be taken into consideration by the clubs and players involved. The presentation is structured in a way to assess first, the transfer from the perspective of the football club acting as a “buyer”, and then from the viewpoint of the “seller” club.
Meet your lecturer
Gianpaolo Monteneri (1970) is a highly regarded expert in the field of international sports and football law. Gianpaolo has a long and successful track record of working with clients from a diverse range of sports sectors, including federations, clubs, athletes, footballers, coaches, agents, and sponsors.
Gianpaolo lectures at the University of Zurich’s Masters of International Sports Law as well as at the UEFA Football Law Programme and other master’s programs around the world. From 2007 until 2014 Gianpaolo was the Academic Director of the Rex Sport-ISDE Masters in International Sports Law in Madrid.
Gianpaolo has represented clients in more than 100 procedures before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS/CAS), a large number of procedures before the FIFA and UEFA deciding bodies, and ad hoc arbitration procedures.
For more than 8 years, Gianpaolo headed a team of international lawyers at FIFA in charge of investigating commercial and labor disputes.
